Immigration status
My new husband came to the US from Canada as a visitor. We met and were married and are now filling out paperwork to file. I have about a million questions, but for now, I need to know what his immigration status is now. Is he still considered a visitor? He's not a K-1 or K-3. The question is on several of the forms we have to complete and I just don't know how to answer it. Thanks in advance for anyone's help!

Which forms are you filling out? Is it the I-129F or the I-130/i-485 etc? Are you a US citizen? How long has he been there?

Re: Immigration status
A canadian citizen can stay in the US without a visa for a period of 6
months. So if ur husband has been in the US for less than that period
and does not have any other visa, he is a visitor. After that his
status in the US will become illegal. Hope this helps.

Where the form asks for status, put "B-2." Where the form asks for
expiration date of status, put a date six months from his entry. Where the
forms asks for I-94 number, put "N/A -- citizen of Canada." Where the forms
ask for visa number, put "N/A -- citizen of Canada."
