Immigration, Moving and Lawyers..
Hi all,
After much debate I decided to hire a lawyer for application of my EB-1 from L1A rather than do the paperwork myself...for peace of mind.
Now this thread is really 2 parts:
1 - My lawyer has been sitting on my paperwork for more than a month now.. he is paid in full, I completed all the forms myself and I have just found out he has not even been in touch with our HR dept at my company. I am getting frustrated as our company is facing financial troubles like many others and hence I am keen for my paperwork to have been submitted whilst my job is still presently secure! I have voiced my concern and have not been comforted by his replies. So I am in a debate as to whether pull away from his services and go back to doing it myself or pursuing this with him? He has worked with other people in our company and been successful with their applications - but was never as slow with them.
2 - Additionally I have just found out that there is a strong possibility I may be moved to another US location, in the same capacity. Would this affect an application? Is it best to continue pushing my lawyer to submit it and then update the details once this has happened...if it happens - or to wait until it is confirmed?
Thanks!

I eventually began to counter this by making sure I was fully read-up on the process and then by making myself a right pain in the arse by phoning often to ask where things were at, making it clear that I knew the process (as I had detected some BS earlier on). I knew that I wasn't her only client and that some things take time, but one thing I wouldn't let stand was the crap communication on her part. Things seemed to hurry up from that point on.

They have no reason to hold up the paperwork, did they give you a reason for their delayed response?
Especially as USCIS seem to be processing these requests fairly quickly at the moment.

No, I don't have a specific response. He had a couple of weeks out due to medical but altogether it has now been 6 weeks. I'm contemplating asking him for everything back and submitting myself but I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not?...

I can try and get HR involvement which I'll do next week. Unfortunately our company is going through so many changes right now with lots of people having to reapply for their own roles that I've got to be a little careful what I push for!
