Hello all,
Not been on here for a while but as I know that this site is the best place to get help when needed, here I am.
My wife's father who is a USC filed an I130 for my wife in 2006. At present we have 3yrs and 9mths plus to wait for the application to become current.
I was just looking over what documents I would need and came across a problem with mine, that being I have only my mother on my birth certificate. I have never known my father as he left my mother before I was born but it states that both parents must be on the birth certificate.
Can anyone tell me how do I get round this problem please?
Kind regards

Since you can't create a b/c with your father's name on it, there is nothing you can do about it. That said, keep in mind that instructions usually apply to the most common situations (read = both parents on b/c), but that doesn't preclude those situations where only one parent is listed. It shouldn't be an issue for you.
If your mom is still alive, you can get a notarized letter from her that outlines the situation. You can show it to the interviewing officer if it becomes an issue.
