I mailed my documents March 25 and just received the letter from INS with a number, what is that?

That is your 1-st NOA also known as Notice of Action.
By the time this process is over you will have memorised that number and will know it better than your SSN, unless you are going through VSC.
When posting questions to the group please be more informative, i.e. what documents?, where did you mail them?
Most of us here are dealing with I-129F and K-1 visas for our fiance(e)s and are going through NSC, CSC, VSC, TSC, or MSC and some information varies based on the Service Center you are going through.

I mailed March 21 for TSC for AOS marriage basead visa. Sorry I was so anxious that i couldn`t think.
