Hi! I've been reading the board and alot of you have really great advice..
I am a Canadian who married my husband two years ago I have a 2 year conditional green card. We have been fighting alot and have decided to call it quits ( he got a dui and spent all our money at the casino basically-) I am in school now and am afraid if I get a divorce they will send me off in a white bus back to Canada. My husband said he would wait until I need to do the 751 but I want a divorce now!
My question is: If I get a divorce now, what are my chances they will let me stay here?
Im not worried if about the interview as my marriage was bonifide and I can prove it.
What would happen if we separated until file time?
How hard are the 751 interviews if you have to do it alone?
We don't have children together either! We have friends and family who will do affidavits- I have all our leases - car insurance and life- bank accounts - pictures- pictures-
Also , since I have left him I am geographically separated.. Do I have to call immigration now and let them know we are not together?
Should I just stick it out and file 751 together?
Im really frustrated!
If you have storys about being divorced and doing the interview alone please post your experience
Thanks! J

The officer states that you are an EWI, and also entered with intent to remain. He calls over some guards, and you get deported in a little white van parked behind the Ins building.
You have scored 37 points in 120 moves. This gives you the rank of Deportee. Do you want to quit (q), restore (r) or start again (a)?

Yessica,
I just got approved last week. I was in a very similar situation. Check my previous posts for more information.
Your reasons for leaving your husbands are very good, and you have some good documents, but I would advise you to hire an attorney. Believe me, you will sleep better. My lawyer didn't even have to say a word during the interview.
Those white vans were probably on some kind of TV show. According to my lawyer, after messing up during the interview you have a month to appeal for a review of your case (or something like that). Which means that you can stay until your case gets resolved. Then you can always appeal again, wait another year or two, etc.
Do you have any documents on his dui or casino adventures?

And 10 casino cards in his name i found in our kitchen drawer
I had a bunch of gambeling soft wear on my computer but I erased it .. I don't think that would matter- I also have copys of all of our bills and EVERY single one of them is past due final notice.. lawyers letters of warning..
I also have bank records
Do I really want to go through the effort of multiple appeals??
I just figured wait it out - but that thought makes my brain hurt.
Thanks for your advice Im reading your posts!
