I-485 CASE Transfer..
hey there all
I've received I-485 interview letter but we are no longer living in Michigan. We have changed addresses and all but seems like USCIS have not updated their database... [ Have confirmation #'s ]
I have sent a letter stating that we are no longer living there an would like to transfer the interview to Florida...
What should I do next? When will i receive a reply? How can I call them directly (DETROIT OFFICE)
What should i do and make sure they do not close the case...
Anyone want to share their experience?
September 13 (Interview date)
Letter sent 04 August 2006
Thanks

When the case is denied due to your failure to appear, you might want to consider either a new filing OR perhaps a Motion To Reconsider. There are judgmental pros and cons involved here.
Of course, if you actually appear in Detroit, you might find that the case HAS been transferred. Its hard to tell.
Before you get angry at USCIS, you should remember that it was YOU who moved and thereby created the problem. [Yes, there is a little sarcasm in this comment. The Devil made me say that.]
Good luck.
