Default I-130, Nebraska time line, K3

I received an "official" answer to my letter about time lines for the I-130
at the Nebraska Service Center on April 8, 2002.

It said they were "presently working similar cases that were receipted in
May, 2002. "

The websites that show processing times for different types of visas
indicated that Nebraska is still processing May 2002, I-130's.

Does anyone know how long it is taking Nebraska to do a months backlog of
applications?

Are they currently working on June?

Does anyone know any recent approval date for people who went through
Nebraska and are waiting for a K3?

My first NOA for a Canadian citizen was July 1, 2002.

Madelon,

I'm not holding my breath. My NoA for NSC is 7/23/02 and My NoA for my K3 is 5/13/03. I could kick myself for not filing for the K3 sooner but, such is life.

I've asked my Congressman & Senator as well as called the 800 BCIS number and the upshot is you're looking at 22 months on average to process I-130s. So, you and I have only been waiting about 9 months. Even if 22 months is a bit on the far side, my guess is NoAs from June won't be processed until the end of this year.

If memory serves me correctly, at the beginning of this year the NSC was showing processing times of 5/21/02. It to them until March to move to 5/28/02. Two months to advance one week!!! That should give you an idea of how long it will take if you're only working on a I-130.

Hope you've filed your K3 petition.

Cheers,
Patty Khadijah

Khadija ,
5/21/02 was the last processing time since November or October of 2002
and has moved only a couple of days since this whole timeframe.
I-130 NOA July 12, 2002

File on a K-3..What would it hurt?

Madelon,
Run, do not walk to the computer and download the forms for the K3. I'm here to tell you that while the NSC is far speedier than the TSC (my SC, ) on 130s there is no need to extend your time apart if it's not needed. The K visas were enacted in order for our loved ones to be with us until the regular visas were processed. The 110 bucks for the K3 is worth every penny. If I were just doing the 130 it would be another 2 YEARS before my 130 is processed according to their processing times. Instead my husband has his interview at the Consulate Friday.......
