Hello everyone!
my wife is a us citizen and she was living in the uk with me for a year and a half now but has now left to go back and live over their as she has got a new job! we have been married for nearly 2 years now but my question is how long would it take to get me over their of she files the i 130 within the next month!
anybody got any ideas as too how long till i can get a visa and move over! and while im waiting for the i 130 to process would i be able to go and see her in the united states or is that not permitted?
hope someone can give me some help here as we dont know what to do!
Regards
Andy

Hi,

I believe it takes around 10-12 months for the visa to come through once your wife files the I-130 petition. It's a shame she didn't file it in London before she left, as you were advised in your previous posts, because then it would be a bit shorter of a wait.

You can still use the VWP to visit her (if you are not ineligible to use it for other transgressions), just be sure to bring LOTS of proof re: ties to the UK.

Yes, if you are eligible to use the VWP you can use it as usual for visiting the USA.

Here is the link to the questions you had in May 2011: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...50#post9380450

I guess you guys couldn't manage to file the I-130 while she was still in the UK?
