Wondering if anyone has any information on the circumstances under which
Humanitarian Parole may be considered a possibility?
I am a USC, my wife has CPR, and we are having some difficulties with her
kids that are still in Brazil. Wondering if there is any chance of using
Humanitarian Parole to resolve the difficulties we are experiencing with
them?
Thanks in advance for any comments.

Are you trying to bring the kids over? what seems to be the problem?
Humanitarian reasons probably aren't easy, and would probably be along the lines of the person will die as a result of not getting the visa...

Oops clicked send too soon, posting again because you are on usenet.
You don't neccessarily want the kids paroled into the US. Humanitarian Parole is only temporary, too (one year tops).
See http://uscis.gov/graphics/services/humanparole/ for more info.
You have the I-130 option (consular at that), or B2 if it is just for a visit. Humanitarian Paroles are very scarce.
If you let us know what the problem is maybe we can help you better.![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Still am planning on the I-130 route. Waiting to get some docs translated.
My wife is back in Brazil with the kids at this time. She went back because
all of the plans we had made for care of the kids have just about disolved.
I had a disturbing conversation with her last night on the phone in that one
of the neighbors at their Dad's house along with their Dad's girlfriend told
her that their Dad has been "beating" the kids since she has been gone. I
don't think this is really a strong abuse situation, but the overall concern
is in regards to the care and welfare of the kids.
If the humanitarian option is reserved for "life or death" situations, then
this probably doesn't fit. If it falls any lower than that, I was thinking
of trying to make an argument on humanitarian grounds in an attempt to
resolve the issue. I assumed it was a long shot and just was curious about
any experiences.
I plan to file the I-130 before the end of next week.
Thanks for all of the feedback.
Mark
PS .... I have been told that I would not be able to get them a B-2 visa
just for a visit due to the nature of the situation and the fact that there
is little motivation for the kids to return to Brazil.
