Hey guys,

Quick question. I am looking at this proposed rule by the Homeland Security. It says the final action is April 2015. How does I find out what happened to this proposed rule and the outcome?

I tried but not being able to read the legal language may be I didn't do justice to my search.

I tried using "79 FR 26870" but nothing specially came up in terms of if this rule was finalized.

Here https://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/def...tus-report.pdf it does state that it's ongoing (this was published in Feb 2015) and that a final ruling expected Spring 2015.

Edit: seems like here http://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/fil...-2015%20_0.pdf the decision is pushed to winter 2016. I wonder if I can read the public comments?

Research. BTW, it is not uncommon for proposed regulations to come out and then nothing happens. There have been times where "interim" regulations are put out, a normal comment period is set, and then YEARS later, final regulations come forth. Personally, I think the comment period should be reopened in such cases and that does happen from time to time.
