I am a landed Canadian permanent resident, working in the US under H1B status, but i
am with single entry H1B visa, I am wondering if i can go to canada to get an
multiple entry H1B visa ?

how long does it take? (assuming i might need to make appointment with US consulate)

do ii have to surrender old I-94 after i leave US border and head over to Canada?
(the reason i am gonng keep it is, in case the new visa is rejected, i can still use
the old I-94 to re-enter the US within 30days)

thanks

steve

You don't need appointment if you are landed immigrant of canada, it takes about 3
hours wait, and come back in the afternoon to get it. Might be less, depending on
the season.
