Default How long does a green card take after perm. residence interview?

Hi

I had my I-551 granted on January 1 and they said (New York Immigration) said that my
green card would arrive in the post. It still hasn't turned up. My passport has a
stamp saying '....lawful admission for permanent residence valid until 19/01/2003.
employment authorized'. However my EAD runs out this month. I'm assuming that stamp
in my passport is prrof that I can work?

Is there a telephone number I can call to find out if my green card has been sent?
How long does it take in New York?

Thanks. Colin

The I-551 stamp is the paper equivalent of the green card. You can work and travel with it.

The current timeline for receipt of the green card from Vermont is approximately 90 days although we have seen people (us included) where it ran over a year and had to have the stamp renewed.

You can't call but you can write. We did as others did and never received an answer.

It can takes months. You have the same rights with the passport stamp.
