Hi all,

I got my passport stamped (I551) in March at the port of entry of Toronto and I'm
*still* waiting for the GC to arrive in the mail. I called the national INS centre to
ask whether there is a problem, and they told me to call the Texas INS service centre
(why Texas, I live in Indiana?!). Needless to say, I couldnt get through, their phone
is always busy.

Is there any chance that my GC got lost in the mail or that the INS screwed up
somehow? Thanks in advance for any help.

The cards are produced in Texas, and the TSC manages that.

It can easily take 1 year or even longer. So relax. You are a PR. The stamp has the
same legal power as the card.

People have waited over a year for their actual card to arrive. If you don't get
it by January 2002, then you should start to think about whether there's a
problem or not.
