My husband and I are UK teachers with over 30 years experience in Education and would like now like to teach in the USA
How do we go about this/ are we eligible to apply for jobs / what is the liklihood of this happening?
Any advice appreciated please.

Since you ask, slim. Of course, it would depend on the level at which you teach (primary, secondary, college) and the subject area. That said, most school boards are loathe to sponsor teachers - at great cost to them - when there are already so many in the US who are unemployed. You would need to have superior qualifications to be considered (read = minimum of Master's degree).
There are 50 states - and so there are 50 different requirements for qualification. Eligibility to teach would depend on where you want to work.
I regret if this has totally dampened your spirits!
