How do I get a copy of my "long form" birth certificate?
 

I was born in the UK but never heard of a long form birth certificate before. Need it for my green card application apparently. Google has mixed results so not really sure how to approach this.

If you were born in England or Wales then you can order a certified copy from the General Register Office.

It's very easy to order online using the link BIP provided though you have to register with them first, a simple matter of setting up a username and password.
I've ordered several certificates from GRO, paid by credit card and they have been posted to me in Italy.

A long form birth cert has your full details and also full details of your parents. A short form birth cert just has your full details but either no details or incomplete details of your parents.

On the GRO site, theres no option to order a "long form", I guess ordering a regular birth certificate here will contain the extra details?

Yes, the only available option is the long form version.
