Hello,
i hope someone can give me some info or hope to my problem.
heres the deal, i have been teaching snowboarding in maine for the past 3 winter seasons and have been issued 3 h2b visa's, last year i met a girl who now dominates my life, problem is i stayed over my h2b visa by 8 weeks, and i just tried to enter the country yesterday via shannon and they denied me on a visa waiver program and said i could never enter through this program ever. i was planning to marry this time round but the length of my stay and lack of money made them suspicious and hence i'm back in england.
so i'm trying to return, whats my best plan, apply for a k1 visa, try for an H2 or try to get back in with the ski resort and get a H2B and then get married and transfer my status.
hope someone can help because i'm absolutly gutted and i was gonna fly to california tomorrow.
peace

Chances are that the H-2B would also be denied because you demonstrated
immigration intent (with your wedding plans). Your best bet is the K-1.

i didnt actually inform the immigration officers of my intent to marry, they refused me on length of my visit and lack of funds. The immigration officer informed me that my only way in would be on a B2 or to marry. but having read a few posts in this forum you cant marry on a B2.
How long does the K1 visa typically take?

Difficult to tell, but I'd say, around six months to a year.

Remember
The K-1 (US/UK), especially with Vermont as the Service Center) would take approximately 4 to 6 months. The waiver if needed another 1 to 3 months.

They stamped my passport with 'Refused admission at Shannon, Ireland' .
i have also got the option of doing a winter Season in Maine, via an H2B, but will this cause problems or should i just go for it?

If you were banned (what were the notations placed in your passport), then your K-1 will be denied as well. If can be overcome with a waiver of inadmissibility but it takes time.

You can certainly try to get an H-2B; there is no harm in that. However,
do be prepared that you may not get the visa at the US consulate (and do
apply for a new visa, even if your old one hasn't expired yet, just to be
on the safe side).
If I was in your shoes, I would have the lady in your life file for a K-1
right now, and start working on the H-2B at the same time. That way, the
K-1 will be ready shortly after you know if your H-2B will be approved or
denied.
