Hello!

I am currently on L1 and my wife on H1B. If I lose my job I believe I am entitled to
adjust to H4, correct? In this case, what would be the form to submit to INS? And, should
I send it certified, with return receipt?

Thanks!

Regards, Carlos Antunes.

You will need to take your wife's H1b approval notice and marriage cert to the nearest
convenient US consulate and get H4 visa.

You should also be able to do it by filing I-539. It's slower and more expensive, but at
least you don't have to travel to do it. (Given that you have to do it within ten days of
losing your job, the cost of travel to the consulate outweighs the filing fee.)
