Hi All
I'm have an up and coming interview for my H1B Visa in Toronto. I am working here currently in the US through a temporary family based sponsorship. My employer is now applying for an H1B through premium processing and assuming that I receive this I will travel to Toronto for my interview.
I am a British citizen with my college degree and relevant work experience all in the UK. The Toronto Website strongly advises against non-Canadian citizens applying for H1B in Canada and to apply in your home country.
I'm hoping to avoid this and was wondering if this rule is strictly applied.
Assuming Toronto approves, does anyone know how many days I will have to wait before they return my passport. The advise 3 working days but again I'm hoping to get it back the same day, or at least the next working day.
Any thoughts or experiences on this would be gratefully received.
Thanks.

hey
it should not be a problem getting your passport stamped in canada. i
think though they strongly recommend returning to your country of
origin for this purpose, thats critically intended towards people
applying for tourists visas or short term visas. I had my interview in
sweden, and they were very professional about it. the only thing I am
unclear about it whether you will be able to pick up the passport the
same day or the next day in person. in sweden, they mailed it back in
4 days, so be prepared to camp out in toronto for a few dyas in the
worst case.
