Default Hi! I am new here and need advice please! :)

Hello everyone!
My fiance (British) and I (American) have applied for the K-1 (in
April) and are awaiting news. I have heard that for the AOS I will
need the past 3 years worth of tax forms. I moved recently and cannot
find my tax forms anywhere. I prepare them myself so I cannot obtain
copies from a tax preparer- does anyone know how to contact the IRS to
get copies of these forms?
I have been stressed about the AOS bc one of the tax years was only
for about $9800 (last years) - the company I worked for was slowly
going under and has recently closed down. The 2 years previous to that
I made 22k and 28K. Now I am starting up my own business that looks
promising but I am not sure how to have that prepared for the AOS - I
have been keeping record of my profits for next year's taxes so I am
hoping that will suffice to show them my current income.
Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you and good luck to all of you
that are going through the same thing!

You can call IRS and ask for tax transcripts. They are free and you
should have them in about 2 weeks or less.

My self-employment income was lower than the 125% level for 2003 for my household size. So for my affidavit, I sent asset evidence: for my real estate (more than enough all by itself), my carsmy personal property, and my CDs. As long as the assets you prove up can be liquidated within 1 year they are OK to use (just remember that State/BCIS wants to see $5 in assets for every $1 that you are short in income). I'll let you know if this was enough to overcome the hurdle on July 1 (after fiance's interview).

However, I know that at least one other poster has had success also using assets where income itself was below the guidelines.

You can get your tax transcripts by telephone or by using IRS Form 4506.
