Don't confuse minimum wage with living wage.
A buck a drink is a good guideline. We have free-pouring here, no optics, so it can pay to make friends with your servers.

The states I know about, which isn't many, tipped jobs have a minimum wage of 50% of the standard minimum wage. However, that's just a minimum, if they are a great, sought after bartender at a profitable bar then they could be pulling in quite a nice salary and bonuses as well as tips.

Basic wage is secondary, also from an owner perspective.
All the add ons are the ones that matter.

You mean the mob I doubt that very much. I am talking about Miami clubs like Spce and Mynt and Set. True as a club owner you may have to deal with such people but that is what the police are their for. But the club owners in Miami are honest business people.

It sound like a libel case what you are saying Ray? Are you implying Vegas casino owners like Harrah's are involved in something illegal? I would hope you weren't their lawyers would bury you in court.
A club or bar is about the only thing I can think off that would make a profit in the economy people always got money for going out? A club would cost too much though wouldn't it? You could by 10 E2's for the cost of a proper soundsystem. I think your talking a million for a good soundsystem alone. A bar would work, that might be profitable and less to setup. You would have to network a lot though before you opened up get in well with the promoters. It might be more long term than running a subway shop or a clothing or something fixing motor boats.

How about a Working Men's Club with traditional club singers?
