Question Help!!! I want to travel....

You people have been a wealth of knowledge to me and I am hoping you can help me. I have a 2 yr conditional green card (exp next year) and want to travel back to canada for family visits. I cannot find anything as to what i will need in way of documentation. I have my canadian passport (in my maiden name, never got it changed to my married name), my green card, US driver's license, SSN card. Is this enough???Do i need to get my Canadian passport changed to my married name????
HELP HELP HELP.

Fran, chill out. You've got everything you need to return home. In order re-enter the US after foreign travel, a CPR only needs their green card.

If your passport is still in your maiden name and your green card is in your married name, then simply carry a certified copy of your marriage license with you as proof of your marriage and new last name. You don't need to worry about carrying your SSN card - not needed at all when traveling. Other forms of photo id (like your driver's licenses) are okay, but not necessary either.

The only thing I would add to this is that if you are flying that someone here said that your airline ticket has to be in the name on the passport. I don't know if that is true of all airlines or just the one they were using specially being that for Canadian travel you don't need a passport (but should have one handy if requested) when only your driver's license is required. To return to the US all you need as stated by sunflower is your green card.

Actually, I think you need your green card AND a valid passport.

You need to enter Canada as a Canadian citizen - your passport or birth
certificate (drivers license only will cause you a long wait while they
grill you to death). When you come back to the US you enter as a
permanent resident - for that you will need your green card.

I have never used a passport and have entered the US by car, bus, and
plane (mind you it was all pre 9/11). Take Rete's advice and carry a
certified copy of your marriage certificate to be on the safe side.

Have a great trip
