Help! I wanna move to Florida!!!
Hi everyone!
New here, my name is Serena I'm 24 years old and would looooove to live in Florida. I'm currently studying to be a pre school teacher and living in the UK for 10 years now with my boyfriend. I would like to complete my studies and relocate to Florida, my boyfriends grandparents live there so I would rely on them to sponsor me for a green card. I currently live in Sheffield but hate it so much and want to get out ASAP.
Can anyone offer me advice on how I can relocate to Florida? I basically need every bit of advice I can get

Hi and welcome to BE
Your grandparents are not going to be able to sponsor you for a green card, so that's a no go.
Have a look at these links which detail the options for visas into the US. http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=585898

How about Oz or Canada?
Welcome to BE btw.
Edit: Actually, on re-reading your thread I note you say that you've been living in the UK for 10 yrs, so does that mean you were born elsewhere? If so, look in to the Diversity Lottery, as that may be an option for you depending on where you were born (although if you did win, and your boyf wanted to go, you'd need to get married for him to be able to accompany you). HTH.

No has to be Florida I'm afraid! I love it!
Is there more chance of me getting a visa with my degree?
Yes I was born in Sorrento, Italy

More chance than without a degree? Yes, as you could get a job and an employment based visa. I think that's extremely unlikely for a pre-school teacher role though.

What does your boyfriend do? Are his grandparents USC's, if so, I assume he's definitely not?

Yes his grandparents are US citizens. He has a degree in sports science. I am really wanting to move there. If it helps I work for Walmart part time as well

From what you've said, you're both fairly young and without much experience, so it's possible but realistically you need to look at it as a 10 year plan.
Sounds like your boyfriend may stand more chance (as mentioned above, not sure any school district will spend $5k+ on bringing over a foreign pre-school teacher), so perhaps he could work his way up in a multi-national company and then try for a transfer once he's gained enough skills/experience? In the meantime, maybe you could apply for the DV and see if you get lucky, you never know!
Have a read of the Wiki articles above, and then you can ask specific questions about your intended visa route.
Good luck.

Well, you have chosen the toughest country in the world to try and immigrate to! That's why I suggested Canada or Oz, soooo much easier. Alternatively, maybe move within the EU thereby avoiding any visa hassle at all? Or even a move to a nicer part of the UK?
Seriously, read the Wiki, understand your visa options, and then you can make a plan of how it might be achieved. Others will be along to help you shortly, and they know a heck of a lot more than my basic knowledge of US immigration, so if a route is possible they'll help you figure it out.
If it's not possible, then maybe I'll see you in the Canada forums after all.
Good luck.
