Hawkinis N400 Timeline - Short Apparently!!

Re: Hawkinis N400 Timeline - Short Apparently!!
Here in Phoenix they did not offer passport services at the oath ceremony. The passport office was only a few blocks away, so right after the oath ceremony we walked straight over to the passport office and applied (expedited). Already had the passport form filled out, but still took a good 2 hours of waiting around...it was busy in there. Hubby got his US passport back within a week. Original certificate of citizenship came back separately the next day. That was back in 2009.

FWIW the San Diego office accepted same day applications before 11am for a 3pm or later pickup. You pay for the expedited service and also need proof of imminent travel (as in within 2 days). Ours was 3 days after application so the expedited service was 2 days later, ie not same day, pick up in person. Documents returned at the time.
The passport bit itself seems fairly quick. They messed up the spelling of my daughter's name and had to redo it, which they did in about half an hour.
Don't forget you can register to vote as well which I believe is offered at most ceremonies around the country. About 10 days after you should also notify SS of your new situation.

Was your AOS filed concurrently? I had a similar experience with that - I-140 was EB-1C and accepted start of Jan 2013, approved June, I-485 was subsequently approved and had green cards on 1st August, so yes I didn't have premium processing but not long after I-140 approval came the I-485.

Thanks! Yes I hope so. My interview date is August 27th, with Oath hopefully September/Early October. So no issue with not being eligible since it's now all after 1st August. Also based on advice I will be going straight home straight after oath ceremony, photocopy certificate and hopefully have passport appointment all setup for next day!

FYI - Had my interview yesterday, I took a boat load (almost literally) of paperwork, including tax returns, copies and originals of everything submitted - wasn't asked for *anything* apart from interview letter and green card (sigh).
I knew the civics questions backwards so only asked 6 - I was the last person so we absolutely flew through, took no more than 15-20 mins. He said he likes people to know whether they really have been approved or not before they leave, so he submitted the application and it came back approved! USCIS notifications received early this morning that yes, I had attended my interview AND I had been approved... not that I didn't believe him but still a nice reminder!
So now just my oath ceremony... which should be in 2-4 weeks at the Raleigh office - out of curiosity for those who have done this recently using ELIS, how fast did you get the date/location of the oath ceremony after application approval? Thanks!
Quick timeline:
N-400 Submitted: 3rd May (exactly 90 days prior to 5 years (1st August 2018).
Biometrics: 25th May
Interview Scheduled: 23rd July
Interview: 27th August

How soon after the application approval did you receive the letter for the oath ceremony? Was it pretty quick? Seems the ceremony is around 3 weeks after the letter which is what the USCIS officer told me...

Congrats! I got the oath ceremony notification the next morning after interview, for an oath ceremony date 2 weeks out. I had two texts/emails right after the interview, the first stating approval, the second for the in line for oath ceremony. Then next morning I received a third text+email stating that my ceremony was scheduled, with date and time provided.

Ah well in my case I had a vacation upcoming a couple of weeks after my interview so I specifically asked if they could schedule for a date after we returned.

Ah well not much point wondering - I had notification of the oath ceremony waiting in my USCIS account - it's a week on Friday!! Wow this is pretty fast. From being eligible on 1st August to Oath on 7th September... not bad!

Had my oath ceremony today and am a very fresh new minted US citizen - with a lovely little flag to wave! They did NOT take any passport applications there, but they did allow you to fill out voter registration and took them in to save you a trip and a stamp. The weirdest thing now is not having a green card... like... it should be somewhere safe... I guess I have to start worrying about my naturalization certificate!!

Congrats! Now say good bye to the naturalization certificate while you apply for the passport, take a copy first! Then it's really weird as you have no green card or naturalization certificate! Our passports took less then 2 weeks and the certificate came back the day after the passports arrived.
