Has anyone applied during the current shutdown?
I want to apply, but I'm a little worried the application (and the money)! will drop intro a black hole at the moment.

Going to be a long time before anything happens anyway.

I would apply and then sit back and wait. Might as well get it started.

Fee funded operations like those of the USCIS N400, GC and visa processes were not typically affected in past shutdowns and don't appear to be impacted (much ?) this time around either.
N400 processing times range from 3 months to 2 years depending on which field office your case is mapped to based on residence.

Good news! I'm told by an Irish colleague here at work that her application only took 8 weeks from start to finish here in Charleston!

So almost a year ago. Your case may be longer, there's no way to predict.

That's fine. As long as it's completed by June 2020 I'm good!

I'm filing my application in Charleston in October this year. I'm hopeful it will be processed in time to make me eligible to vote in the next election. USCIS has processing times for Charleston currently at 3.5 months to 12 months.
