H4 for canadian landed immigrant

Hello Experts,

My husband and I are landed immigrants in Canada. My husband is currently working in
the U.S. on a H1-B status, while I am in Canada.

He is switching jobs now, and his new employer has applied for a H1 transfer. I am
planning to join him in July, and I want to know what kind of documents I will have
to produce to get a I-94 at the POE when I go. Also, do I have to wait until he gets
his new H1-B approval notice before I can get my H4 ?

I am from a commonwealth country, and don't need a visa to travel to the U.S.

I sincerely appreciate your help.

Vas

You need a photocopy of the front and back of his I-94 and a copy of his I-797 H1B
approval notice. You also need your marriage certificate, plus passport and Canadian
Landing papers.

I trust that your husband has not already lost his Canadian PR status which he can
easily do in this kind of situation, especially if he left shortly after landing?

Stuart,

Thanks for your response. My husband has not lost his PR status, he was in Canada for
three years before taking up a job in the U.S.

Thanks again for your help.
