Totally untrue. I mean obviously you don't need to say anything about your GC intentions at the interview mate. Just provide with proof you will be leaving US.

Another thing is - on this forum I have seen a PDF floating around which is a USCIS memo specifically mentioning "A pending GC application can not be a reason for an E-3 renewal denial"
