H1B visa stamping time in London

I need to visit London as one of the biggest British companies, with whom I worked in West Africa, wants me to come London and participate in business meetings/datasearch. This is to be a one week to two weeks affair.

I am in 8th year of my H1B visa...on annual increments. In case I decide to go to London, I have to get H1B visa stamped on my passport before I come back to the USA. I have current visa extension approval notice till July 2006.

My question to you helping folks is that how long is appoint wait in London located US visa conslulate for this type H1B visa stamping.

Thanks for your time folks.

Regards

I don't know whether the procedure has changed, but when we did it a year ago, we had to get someone based in the UK to ring a (premium) 900 number to make an appointment. This number can only be accessed from the UK.

I think we made the appointment about 2 months ahead of travelling to London.

Once we turned up for the appointment, there was about a 2-hour wait outside the embassy, and a further 1.5 hours inside.

We got the passport back 2 days later, by special courier. However, if memory served me right, we had been told it could take up to 5 days, so one has to allow plenty of time.

HTH!

I went to the US consulate in London for my US visa last year ,I booked a
month in advance. They didn't however have a very long wait list like some
other places. I had to wait outside for 2 hrs, but after that everything
was straight forward and i got the passport back by recorded delivery the
next day. You can also visit the embassy website to see when the next
appointment is available.
