Hello
I transferred my F1 after my masters to H1 1.5 yrs back. I am planning to go to Mexico or Canada to get my multiple visa.
I would appreciate if somebody can answer my questions.
1) Which is better? Mexico or Canada? I am in California.
2) Can I come back to US if my visa got rejected for same reason? What is the process of coming back to US if not like visitors visa etc.? How long I can stay here?
3) My company has been in business for 10 yrs but is still a startup with less than 3 people working. They have sponspored some successfull GCs before.
4) What are the documents I need to take? Is it good to take company tax filings also.
5) Would last 5 months pay stubs suffice with my tax filings last year?
6) Any advice on do or don'ts?
Thanks and I really look forward to hearing back.

To give you a simple answer, you need a valid passport and visa to apply for
admission into the US. Unless you are from a Visa Waiver Program countries
or Canada, without a valid visa you cannot be allowed to enter the US
legally.
The Northern and Southern borders are expected to follow the same laws.

US consulates are reluctant to issue visas to third-country nationals.
> 2) Can I come back to US if my visa got rejected for same reason?
No.

Especially for first time visas, your best bet is to apply at the consulate
in your home country.

No idea. Neither is guaranteed to give you a visa.
> 2) Can I come back to US if my visa got rejected for same reason?
Not as an H-1B. You could enter on another visa if you have one, but
then you wouldn't be able to work.

Same as any other visa.
> How long I can stay here?
You're usually admitted until the later of your passport validity,
your visa validity, or your petition validity.

Proof of your employment by the company, all releveant approval
notices. It would probably be a good idea to have a complete copy
of the petition and supporting paperwork.
