H1B again!
#1

Hi,
I am currently in the UK and working as a software developer.
I have been actively seeking work in Georgia for a couple of years now with only a few interviews.
I am qualified and have enough experience for an H1B, just having s**t luck
Can anybody recommend a software consultancy that sponsors visa's, I am prepared to fund the visa (I know that this is technically illegal) or reimburse them.
I will keep on trying, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Col

try calling these people.
http://www.attictechnologies.com/
I know a friend of mine is working for them and is pretty happy with
them. They can find a project for you in GA or whereever you want.
Thats up to you to figure out with them.
Note: I have no affiliation with this company, infact I am not even in
IT industry. I just saw your question and I know the general creed of
S/W consultants, so these people are relatively better than many who
are out there.
Good luck with your search

Hi learnfpga,
Thanks for the company lead, I will give them a try.
I did notice that the company offer a $2000 referal bonus to any employee who refers a new candidate to them.
Perhaps your friend would like to refer me, gotta be worth it for 2k
Thanks again.

You are not alone. The IT job market is in pretty bad shape even for
Americans. Most of the jobs are now going to India. Those who still hire
H-1Bs are often of one of two kinds: companies who already know you
personally (so be sure to get your networking skills up!), and the
exploitative companies who want to offer rock-bottom wages to people who
can't complain.
H-1B is still a very good thing, but the job market just isn't there in IT.

Actually, there is very little illegal about it. Of the total cost, only
$1000 must be paid by the employer, and a few other fees are supposed to.
Of course, you cannot pay them a bonus to hire you, or subsidize your own
salary - that would be a bribe or fraud and could have serious
repercussions.

Hi,
In regards to Kevin's comments, the Networking bit
What would be the best method of networking, in regards to finding a sponsor?
I have done the usual, msgboards, web groups, Monster networking.
Anyone got any better ideas?
Thanks
