Gotta be wrong, because to get the visa, the company had to have tried to make an effort in hiring a USC or PR...so it seems unlikely that many would scout overseas', not to mention the added cost of doing it...

Hi there,

I am thinking about paying for $495 USD to h1base, you said you've been with them for a few months now, can you elaborate more on your experience with them? Also since the 2007 cap was reached last week, is there any point purchasing h1base at this point? My MSc and PhD were both from schools in the US and both were in biomedical engineering (actually more biology than engineering, hence the concern about being qualified)

I would really appreciate your help on this.

Thank you in advance.

You may be better of putting the money toward aa plane ticket for a visit to the companies that employs your skill set ...

I agree with Ray. Had a couple of people call me but they turned out to be uninterested when they found out I was out of the US. Like Ray says, best chance is to get over here and bang on office doors imo :(

OR use some UK agencies that specialise in sending people to the US, I know they exsist :)

Best of luck!

Anyone have any examples of these companies?
Sounds like that kind of thing will be very expensive, what can they do differently to anyone else? Unless they have a lot of contacts who have alot of availiable jobs!

Forget agencies ... never met one person who got a job thru one yet ....

Message to Solar/Thread
hello
i read the whole conversation. how did you get the 4 H-1B visas bc as someone said, once companies realize that you are not allowed to work in the USA, well its over.
i understand the option : go there and knock on every door, but it doesnt look serious to look for a qualified job in a NYC company for example by walking in.
and even if you have the chance that someone likes you, you'll still have to come home, fill out all the paperworks, and go back to the States with a valid visa. right ?
Does anyone know people in NYC bc this is where i'm looking for a job ?
thanks guys
