Has anyone ever obtained an H1 visa from a county or government job. I
am pursuing a job with riverside county california and i am wondering
if anyone has had a similar experience....

depends on the government job, most require you to be either a citizen or an LPR already...and if they didn't, it'll depend on what the job is, most local type government jobs couldn't spare the money to sponsor etc...
