H1 to F1 urgent info
Hi,
I am currently on H1 working as a software consultant. But the current employer has failed to find me a job for quite some time. Meanwhile I got my admission from a reputed university who will be sponsoring me for a F1. But I am in a dilemma for the following reasons.
1. How important are pay stubs when you go from H1 to F1?
2. I am planning to go to my home town, can I start a new application for F1 without disclosing my H1 B.
3.Is it necessary to transfer from H1b to F1
I would appreciate any help...

???
1) The H-1B rules prevent benching; you should be getting regular paychecks.
2) No, regardless of whether you apply for a change of status or return
to your home country and apply for a new visa.
3) I assume you mean change of status; no, it is not necessary; you can
return to your home country and apply from there.
