H1-B questions
Who pays the H1B and lawyer fees. A company is asking me to pay $750 (lawyer) + $130 (INS). Are there any laws about who pays the fees. How should I pay the company in US specially when I am not in US. They told me that I can;t pay by wiring to their account because of tax issues. Is there a work around for this situation. I shall appreciate any input.

Re: H1-B questions
I was under the impression that the sponsoring company is responsible for
all lawyer and INS fees.
Ingo, correct me if I'm wrong.
I came to US on H-1B 3 years ago and I'm now going through AOS based on
marriage to my sweetie.

That impression is wrong.
There is only a part of the fees that the employer absolutely has to pay
and can't seek reimbursement from the prospective employee.

Well, the now-abolished $1000 "Training Fee" was strictly the employer's
responsibility.
There are probably quite a lot of websites that explain the fees.
I just refer you to Ingo's FAQ about the H1 because I have it handy:

Re: H1-B questions
My company was exempt from paying the $1000 since it is a non-profit university. But I had to pay for the lawyer and the form from my own pocket.
