Default H-1B visa times

Hi,
My lawyer has applied for my H-1B Visa on the 21st of August, I am in NY state, so my papers go to the Vermont processing center. Can someone tell me how long does it take these days to get the Visa. I have to leave the country at the end of the year on Dec 10th.

Thanks

At the BCIS Vermont Service Center, it appears that new H-1B petitions are
taking about 3 and one-half months from filing to approval. See
http://www.shusterman.com/pdf/vsc.pdf.

If your employer submits a premium processing fee of $1000, the petition
will be adjudicated within 15 days. Did anybody discuss that possibility
with you?
