Default Green Card with Error + I-751

My wife entered the US via the I-130 in late September 2001. Last
year, we noticed that on her temporary GC, there was an error on the
year of entry (2002 instead of 2001). We took it into the INS office
and they updated the record in the computer to show 2001. They took
the card and stamped the passport showing conditional status valid
until September 2003.

With September approching, we have yet to receive the corrected GC. It
has been nearly 8 months already! Any experience with such replacement
timelines? The I-90 was filled out, submitted directly to the INS
desk, they sent it in to Nebraska, and we did not get any receipt or
action notice.

Since we are coming up on our 2-year anniversary, we need to send out
the I-751 package. For that we need to include a copy of the card.
Although I have a copy of the erronious one & a copy of the temporary
stamp in the passport, I feel concerned sending no accurate card copy
in with this package. Any advice on how to handle this?

I'm hoping the corrected card arrives every day, but it may be a while
for all I know.

Thank you,
Ranju

Yes the replacement I-90 can take up to a year to obtain. Send in the I-751 with a copy of the stamp. You should not have a problem with that. Also if you send a copy of the card you can add an attachment explaining what you said here.
