Default Green Card - Birth Cert and Passport Copies

Hi, I've spent yesterday reading existing threads and there doesn't appear to be anything similar.

I have been sponsored by my father who is a USC and the process started 6 years ago. Earlier this year I was given a priority date and have submitted forms and documents to the NVC however they have responded with the following issues:

1. The long birth certificate of my child has to be stamped by the issuing authority however Kingston does not stamp it's birth certs.

2. Photocopies of the biometric page of passports have to be provided - this was provided any clues as to why this may have been rejected?

I would appreciate it if anyone has had a similar experience as trying to get any sense out of the NVC is proving to be very frustrating

How frustrating!

Can you get a letter from Kingston explaining that they don't stamp the birth certs and send that in?

If it was me I'd photocopy the biometrics page again and send it in.

Good Luck

I agree with Lisa67... request documentation from Kingston stating they don't stamp birth certificates, and resubmit the photocopies. Sometimes stuff gets lost (or falls on the floor, or just isn't noticed).

This is from the State Dept's Reciprocity Schedule for Jamaica; the official source of which civil documents are accepted (NVC is part of the DOS)

Birth Certificates

Available. A certified, computer generated copy of a birth certificate, officially called a Birth Registration Form, may be obtained from any branch of the Registrar General's Department (RGD), which is headquartered in Twickenham Park, Spanish Town. Requests may also be made through the RGD's website. The full name of the subject, the exact date of birth, the name of the father (if it appears on the birth certificate) and the full name of the mother should be furnished. The current format is computer generated and printed on A4 size security paper. Older, handwritten documents, which are typically produced on paper measuring 8 x 6.5 inches or 3 x 14 inches, are no longer accepted at post.

Your biometric pp pages may have been mislaid; re-send them if you are sure that's what they're asking for.

That's OK, you can google reciprocity schedule (or work backward from my link) to find the UK requirements.

You need the long-form, from Births Deaths Marriages.
