Green Card Approval from Baltimore!!
On Friday January 9, I received a letter back from Baltimore BCIS - at first I thought it would say something interesting, but it was just acknowledging receipt of my I-72 (request for information), which we had sent on December 29, with all of Kate's dad's co-sponsor information. It did tell me that final adjudication would take up to May 4.
Then on Saturday January 10, I received another letter (dated January 8). This time it was the real thing!
Dear Sir/Madam:
This is to notify you that your Application for Lawful Permanent Residence has been approved. This means that you are now a lawful permanent resident of the United States. Your Permanent Resident Card will be mailed to you directly from the Vermont Service Center in St. Albans, VT. You should be receiving your card within the next 9 to 12 months.
If you need temporary evidence of your permanent resident status prior to receiving your card, you may bring this letter to our Information Counter located on the first floor of the Fallon Federal Building to receive a stamp reflecting your new status in your passport.
So finally, almost a year to the day since Kate filed the I-129F, I'm a Permanent Resident!
