Fingerprints for I-485 ?
Hello:
I hope someone can help me with the following question.
I am currently in the adjustment of status phase of the green card
application (receipt date: May 2003). I heard that the BCIS (INS) should
have asked for my fingerprints within 2 to 3 months of my receipt date. Is
it true? If it is, what should I do since it has been more than 12 months
and I have not heard anything ? (I applied for the I-485 in the EB2
category).
Thanks,
FunnyFou

Re: Fingerprints for I-485 ?
I just got my notice of receipt, and it says: Next step is to schedule your biometrics and fingerprinting. So, there was no separate letter-invitation for fingerprinting. Maybe, yours got lost.

------ not true, some get FP notice in 3-4 months after they file I-485, many get FP notice before I-485 is to be approved

-------- nothing to worry, many get FP notice they do FP and FP expire in 15 months and they have to do the PF again as USCIS is not approving I-485 in 15 months it takes around 18-24 months at this time, you will get FP notice, do you have your present address on I-485?? if you moved update your new address on pending I-485 so the FP notice come to your new address

Re: Fingerprints for I-485 ?
That's the thing. I called INS and they told me I had to schedule FP appt right away, otherwise my case will not be processed. I just got my NOA for I-485 a couple of days ago. And it takes 3 years for AOS in Atlanta.
Now, what about fingerprinting for my EAD? should I do it now? Since I am going to get it in the mail in about 3 months, and it's supposed to have a fingerprint on it.
