Default fingerprinting i-485

Hi,

I have a fingerprinting appointment for I-485 scheduled for this
Friday 9AM. My husband has the same appointment scheduled for 8AM. I
am also traveling on the same day on an important business trip. I
have to leave the fingerprinting office (LA, on Pico blvd), by latest
at 10:00 in order to make it. (I have a valid AP to travel).

Does FP usually take less than 1 hour? If not, should I inform
somebody there of my trip? How likely is it that they will help me
out, and that I will finish on time?

Thanks,

Marija

I did my fingerprinting in May 22, 2003 in Chicago. It took me one hour,
but if I was you I will move my trip for the day or later in time of this
day. I recommend do not reschedule it, because your process will take
longer, and actually in the normal process it take longer.

Bye.

Move your trip. While fingerprinting can sometimes be completed in an
hour, it takes a lot of luck. If anything at all goes wrong, it could take
all day.

My own fingerprinting took from 8 AM until about noon or so; there were
several periods of filling out forms, waiting, filling out more forms.
This was four years ago, and I know that they changed the procedures since
then, so it may not be completely relevant any more.

It would be extremely difficult for me to move the trip at this
moment. Is there any chance that if I show someone there in the
fingerprinting office that I am traveling in couple of hours, that
they will help me out?

Maybe, but there are no guarantees. (You are not going to get a closer
estimate than that statement.)

If this is a BCIS Application Service Center, I think they will be flexible.
If they can't get your prints done that day, you can probably walk in on a
later day and get the prints taken.
