I moved to the USA in October of 1979, on an L-2 visa. I adjusted to permanent
resident in May of 1981.

Here is my N400 timeline. I filed in Boston.

Priority Date 3/31/2000 Fingerprinted 5/16/2000 (took 2.5 hours) Received letter for
interview early October 2000 interview 12/21/2000 (waiting + interview took 1.5
hours) Received letter for swearing in 3/14/2001 Sworn in at Boston, 4/12/2001 (took
1.5 hours)

I couldn't believe the line for swearing in. I arrived at 10:10 for a
10:30 swearing in, and by the time we filed into the room, there were a good 100 "new
citizens".

If you've not heard it already, when entering the Boston INS, use the side entrance
(on city hall plaza). Much shorter line than the one on Cambridge Street.

So I am officially done with the INS forever. I am filing my US passport application
tomorrow. Hooray!
