What about
citizenship? How long (and what kind of GC) you have to wait to apply??
If you are still married to the same USC, and you've been married more than 3 full years, and you meet all the other requirements, you can apply for citizenship 3 years after you've been a PR (either CPR or LPR, doesn't matter).

If not married to a USC, then 5 years after becoming a PR.

For example...if you are married in April 2005, you get approved for CPR in March 2007, you will remove conditions in the 90-day window before March 2009. If you meet all the requirements, you can apply for naturalization in March 2010, even if your I-751 is not adjudicated yet.

Rene, thank you for clearing this out for me! You are really a help!

ps. what is happening when smbdy got 2yr conditional card and divorce
wife/husband? can that person still apply for citizenship or longer GC?
that may be a way for USC to "blackmail" their second part, isn't it?

Regards.

If a CPR gets divorced from the USC, and the marriage was entered into in good faith, the CPR can petition for the removal of conditions on their own, after the divorce is final. They then have to wait 5 years from becoming a PR in order to apply for citizenship.
