Default FBI Name Check and Finger Prints..

Hello All,

I have been reading this forum for a while now, and it has been really
helpful for me in the whole k-1 visa process i am going thru for my
fiance in Pakistan. He had his interview and was told to wait for FBI
name check and finger prints getting clearead. He was told that it
would be abou 45 days.

I have read few messages in this forum how FBI finger printing and
name check takes so long...and thats scarring me...
Just want to know if anyone of you out there actually got cleared from
FBI in 45 days?
So i emailed embassay in pakistan asking about this and this is the
response i got:
"applicants affected by additional screening should expect delays
before the case is concluded. It is difficult to predict the amount
of time that the clearance process will take."

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

sanna

Hi Sanna,

Saddia (who posted a few times on this board) has a Pakistani fiance that just completed his K-1 process and is now in the USA (he's been here 1 week now!) He waited between 4 to 5 weeks to get the call-back from the consulate to go pick up his visa. They had told him a 45-day wait, but his ended up being a little less. So hang in there!

Best Wishes,
Rene

Hi!!!! I'm always happy to meet another USC with a Pakistani love. When was the interview? I have heard that since they have gotten the electronic fingerprinting etc that it is going smoother and faster. I read a post from Visa Journey last month where a fiance got his visa in 3 weeks from Islamabad, and then, yes, Sadia's sweetie got his in 1 month.

Our interview was Oct 8th, last week. They told my fiance that he should get the visa in 1 month, but to call in 45 days if he did not here from them. How long have you been waiting?

Dont worry it will be ok! Just think positive - it will happen. Yes, some people do run into some problems, but there are many more success stories. There is time enough for worrying if the 45 days passes... for now, just be happy, he will come soon.

My email is: if you would like to keep in touch. Where are you located? I am in Oregon, my fiance is about 3-4 hours from Karachi.

Thank you soo much Marnee :-)...that makes me feel so much better!!!
everytime i thought about 4-6 months wait for security clearance, i
was terrified...!
My fiance had his interview on october 8th also...and yes he was told
that it will take about 45 days for finger prints cleareance and
security checks,
he had been upset that they didn't keep his passport (they told him to
bring it when he gets called from embassay) did that happen to ur
fiance as well or they kept his passport?

I am from New York, and my fiance is from Lahore.
Wishing you and everybody here lots of GoodLuck!

Yes that is normal. They said they will give him the visa on a peice of paper so dont leave the passport. It sounds like everything is on track for you two as well. That is very interesting that our fiances were both there on the same day! Maybe they met each other. What is his name? My honey's name is Asghar.

Please keep in touch and let me know if you hear anything from the embassy. I will also send you an email when we hear something if you will give me your email address.

Take care and good luck!!

what a coincidence, its definately interesting :-) My fiance's name is
Imran. Every thing seems to be going good so far in this visa
process...lets hope it stays that way! I met my fiance in March 2004
and it seems like soooo long now... wait seems like forever!

Marnee I would definately let you know if I hear anything, you can
email me also at [email protected]

Thank you so much!
