I have gone through (3) three H1B and (1) one F1 applications/ renewals in the last 9 years. I am sure that at some point, I would have gone through the FBI background check clearance.
On Tuesday, I went through a successfull AOS interview. No stamp or approval was given due to the pending background check. So I called the FBI number to check the status of my finger prints, and found that they were good and had been sent back to the USCIS on the same day (11/22).
I hope I am not stuck in the FBI name check mess. I know it takes a good 2-3 monts for the name check process, but reading some of the stories makes me wonder.
I hope they mail my Green Card soon. I am in the process of moving to another state and would hate to give the USCIS office a reason to delay or screw up.

As me an others already pointed, we can't really tell you when your background check will be completed, I know is frustrating but there is nothing else we can help you with in regards of this particular matter.
Hope you get the clearance soon!
