I moved your post to the 'sensible reply' section.

Immigration through a family member is limited to certain, close relatives.
Your US citizen relative must be:
a parent
a spouse
a child 21+
a sibling

Permanent Residents (green card) can petition for some of the above, but they have longer waits than citizens.

Step cousins aren't close enough to be of any use in directly helping you immigrate.

There is a pinned article at the top of the forum that leads you to the other possible ways you could live in the US.

Could do that and have it count only if the coz were of the opposite sex. After all, they are "step" coz.

Forget everything else, I'm still wondering how a US citizen has a greencard!

I was wondering that....but anyway, cousin won't be of any help unless you got married...

Look at the wiki on ways into the US to see what are likely ways to try, baring in mind that it could all well chance in the future and no one can really give you better advice without having more information.

I shall add an * to all the no answers. Is it not possible that the step cousin could sponsor their parent (who would be the brother/sister to one of the OP's parents) who could then sponsor their sibling (who is the OPs parent) who in turn could then sponsor the OP? Granted it's not the best plan and would take several decades, but it's possible.

I'm guessing it's even more simple than that... and the word "citizen" in the first post was a mistake. The step-cousin is likely just a US PR.

This sounds familiar.....

There was an old lady who swallowed a cow,
I don't know how she swallowed a cow;
She swallowed the cow to catch the dog,
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat,
She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,
She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;
I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!

There was an old lady who swallowed a horse...
She's dead, of course!
