I have a specific question concerning an airline ticket from Warsaw to
Chicago, IL. I am a polish citizen not holding a green card nor being
an Americana citizen. Please let me know whether I HAVE TO purchase a
round trip ticket or one way ticket will do ? I understand that at the
point of entry into the USA I will be asked why I do not have a return
ticket. The answer is quite simple : I will be arriving to USA on F1
student visa and my graduate studies take as much as two years. I do
not know when I will be heading home. It might be Xmas 2004 as well as
summer 2005 (if I find an interesting summer internship in USA) or
maybe even as long as next Xmas 2006. Is this information enough to
convince the immigration officer to let me thru or I need to come up
with some specific documents saying that ?
Thanx
Marcin

I do not think that you are required to have round trip ticket when you
arrive on F1 visa ... BUT in 80% round trip ticket is cheaper (!) than
one way, so you might think about buying roundtrip ticket and tossing
the other part away.

I can guarantee that he can buy a one way ticket in Warsaw for less than
a roundtrip.![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

thanx a lot guys !! it was a great help ! Well as far as the prices it
is really a mess !!!! I guess ppl who decided to run some trainings or
courses on "how to shop around airline prices" woould make lotta
money. true, in poland round trip does not necessarily mean lower
price than one way ticket.
