Default ESTA, quick question

Hello,

I have a quick question. I filed my ESTA application little over 18 months ago. Put all my details and to my recollection, it came back approved real time (in about 10 seconds)...that sound right?

Our friends are planning a visit and they applied for ESTA (they are Australians) yesterday (must have been 12-15 hours ago) but they did not recd any confirmation/emails. Just wanted to check if ESTA is taking longer OR of course the system must have referred the app to be assessed.

No panic but just wanted to know if my recollection of ESTA being approved straight away is right...Thanks in advance.

When my sister flew over for our wedding in June, it took a day before she got hers approved. She just had to keep going back and checking on the website.

Thanks guys. It was approved.

After I got responses here, I called them last night and asked them a few questions. They said they had to pay $44 as a fee and I immediately said that's can't be right. So it turns out they have filled in a wrong application duh!!

So did repplied using correct link and were approved immediately....

such a waste of time sorry folks

Hi,

Didn't want to start a new thread, just need the answer to a question. I got an approval on screen made up of 16 letters and numbers, do I now at some point get some paperwork or a card or do I just jot this down on some paper and take it with my flight tickets?

No you will not receive any paperwork. Make a note of the number and take it with you...just in case.
