Our Esta applications have been pending for over a week. As I understand you cannot reapply while they are pending but there seems to be no way to contact them to discuss.

Have any others experienced this where their Esta application took much longer than the usual 72 hours?

In earlier posts you said you would probably have to apply for a B2 visa as you have visited Iraq in the past.

Might this not be holding up your ESTA application?

I assume that's what it is, but on the ESTA website it says a decision will be given within 72 hours, even for a rejection.

At the moment we are in limbo. I have an appointment in London mid Feb to get a visa but my family's application remains stuck in the ESTA system. As I understand you cannot reapply while a current application is pending.

It does say ‘usually’ within 72 hours.

Daft question, but you definitely applied on the official website and not on a third parties? It’s odd that none have been approved, when you log in to check the status do they all say pending?

Yeah - I wondered that too but it's definitely on the official Homeland security website.
