Employment Authorization
I have entered the US on an E31 visa, sometimes known as a H3B visa.
I have read (but cannot find anymore) that my spouse needs to submit a form prior to working. Does anyone know if this is the case? She already has her Social Security number. Thanks G |
Re: Employment Authorization
Are you referring to an immigrant visa? So you and your spouse entered the US and are just waiting for your green cards to arrive? If so, there's no additional employment authorization needed.

Re: Employment Authorization
Did they stamp your passport at the POE with an I-551 stamp? If so, that is all you need to show your residency status. Your physical green card will arrive sometime in the next 3 months or so. Do you have US social security cards? If not, you need to go to the Social Security Office any apply for your social security cards there. Usually, it is suggested that you wait ten days to do so as it might take a few days for your information taken at the POE to be inputted into the SAVE system.
