Let's be honest, statistically she won't. If I remember correctly the odds are around ½-1% each year for any one applicant, but if you want to immigrate to the US and aren't otherwise eligible, it is certainly worth a shot.

Odds of 1% mean you'd have to 'play' the lottery for about 70 years in order to make it more likely than not to immigrate to the US. A sobering thought.

That's still massively better than the odds of winning a life-changing amount in a cash lottery though.

no offence but you asked for loopholes have you thought about trying for asylum

usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/09/08/ariz-sees-surge-of-asylum-seekers-from-india/2781025/

it seems all other routes are tough and closed whereas this one is a free for all. sure plenty of folk who get in this way can work as sparks etc under the radar

am surprised they not more strict on this but once you close conventional routes the unconventional ones open up!

so 1 way ticket to guatemala then a quick hop skip and a jump tell the border guys you want asylum they take you to a bus stop leave you then you are on your way...sorted!

That's just daft! There is no history of anyone from the UK ever successfully claiming asylum in the US. A handful have tried, but merely disagreeing with the political or economic system, or individual laws in the UK, such as the anti-gun laws, is not, under any circumstances going to get a resident/ citizen of the UK asylum in the US.

There was a German family that claimed asylum, something to do with home schooling.

My own brother in law who has a valid claim to asylum has been in the USA for almost 7 years now, with no end to his case yet. Even claiming asylum for genuine purposes is a long, daunting, expensive process. A case with a false claim to it just sounds waaaaaay wrong.

Comment -- from what OP posted, I see TWO lottery entries, not just one.

Just saying.

This is, very likely, the most idiotic suggestion I've seen in this forum these many years!

... who says he would have to say he is british?
IMHO, you are now, officially, an idiot.

Normally, I'd suggest that the moderator ban you from posting... but I actually hope that doesn't happen... because you are a great form of free entertainment.

Some time back somebody did post a link to the number of asylum applicants by country and I am pretty sure there were some from the UK.

Most UKC's are not eligible to apply for the Lottery, there is no such exclusion on Asylum claims.
