EB-5 Investors: Current Timelines Experienced for I-526 & I-829?
This year there has been a spike in EB-5 investors submitting I-526 applications. Timelines are cited by USCIS as 8 months, but I'm thinking it's possible that this huge increase is elongating the time taken to approve these applications.
I was thinking it would be good to track here the timelines that others are experiencing for these two applications (only). So if people are getting approval in under 8 months please let us know; or if you are still waiting more than months later - again it would be useful to hear.
I'm in the I-526 process myself (since June 2012) and so don't expect an answer for several months.

My point is that if many others are well over the 8 month mark that is definitely useful to know as we plan for the biggest move of our lives; quitting our jobs etc etc.
And if timelines are working out OK, then that gives some comfort too for those of us in the quiet phase whilst applications are being considered.
If it's not of interest to you that's not a problem, I'm not trying to force anyone to post theirs. Certainly I see - and scour for - questions and comments re timelines in several threads and having in one location makes sense/can be updated as we move forward towards our common dreams.

I understand what you mean about 'comfort in the quiet phase'. Good luck.
Invested in 01/2008, I-526 submitted 9/2008, I-526 approved 9/2009, moved 12/2009, I-829 submitted 10/2011, I-829 approved 9/2012.
New build office with Amlife, finished Feb 2010.
Tenancy rate (signed contracts) above 50% = December 2011.

If there are 25 applications and 24 of those are approved in 6 months, how much more anxious are you going to be if yours isn't approved until 10 months? That's 4 months of sheer anxiety for you! Not helpful at all.
If there are 25 applications and 24 of those are approved in 8 months and yours is approved in 6 months, that catches you out 2 months early and unprepared. Again, not helpful at all.
I'm suggesting that following timelines is an exercise in futility at best, and frustration at worst.

We filed our I-829 in February 2011 and it was approved in July 2011.

So 4th January 2013 saw a not-unexpected update from USCIS on EB-5 processing times. No longer is '8 months' cited to suggest applications reviewed in 8 months or less; rather that they are processing applications submitted in March 2012. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do

What i find useful about the information you brought to light is that although the USCIS website was updated on Jan 4th, but the dates reflect data gathered till Nov 30th, 2012 so the I-526 approval time is still pretty much 8 months. I wonder if that will increase or decrease in the future or has from Nov 30th, till now.

Here is a better more direct link to the California service centre.

Fixuis, no I do not yet have the I-526 approval. I have only been in the process since mid 2012 but hopefully soon.
